ABOUT SCHOLARSHIP PLUS

Scholarship Plus (SPlus) is a New York City–based college success program that supports

first-generation students from low-income households throughout their college journey.

Scholars receive a four-year scholarship, along with individualized advising and career

readiness support. Through this comprehensive model and a strong, opportunity-rich

community, SPlus ensures that scholars graduate on time and debt-free. We have

maintained a 98% college graduation rate over 16 years.


ABOUT THE POSITION

We are seeking a motivated, organized, and detail-oriented Program and Operations

Coordinator to join our small, dynamic team. You will provide crucial administrative support

across multiple divisions of the organization, including operations, programs, development,

and direct scholar support. As a key member of our team, you will help manage

day-to-day tasks, assist with events and communications, and ensure smooth operations

to support our current scholars (80+) and growing alumni community. This is an excellent

opportunity for someone passionate about education, equity, and supporting the success

of first-generation college students.


This full-time position is NYC-based with a Monday–Friday, 9 am–5 pm schedule. While

work will be remote, there are several (about 6) in-person events throughout the year — all

in NYC — which this role is expected to attend. These events may take place outside of

standard business hours. A shared office space in Midtown is available to all staff.

Applicants must live in the New York Tri-state area.

  • Administrative experience, including: excellent written and verbal communication
  • skills; strong time management and organization skills; and strong attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Forms, etc.) Microsoft Office (Word,
  • Excel, PowerPoint), Canva, Notion, and Monday
  • Comfortable and interested in learning new technologies (e.g. WizeHive, Bloomerang,
  • Concur, Airtable, Stripe, pre-approved Artificial Intelligence platforms, etc.)
  • Flexibility and desire to work as part of a small team and growing organization
  • Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of relevant experience in program management, administration, or nonprofit work.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide administrative support across SPlus programs, operations, and scholar support.


Program & Scholar Support

  • Communicate through email with scholars regarding submissions (semester
  • updates, transcripts, expense receipts, onboarding documentation)
  • Support the processing and tracking of stipends for scholars (Concur), including
  • collecting and evaluating financial/academic information; preparing letters; and
  • verbal and written communication with scholars
  • Assist with the maintenance and creation of program-related
  • spreadsheets/databases to track scholar information and submissions

Operations

  • Support the day-to-day execution of operational systems to ensure smooth
  • functioning
  • Maintain and update internal systems across platforms (e.g., Notion, Monday,
  • Bloomerang, Google Drive, WizeHive, etc.), ensuring data is accurate, organized,
  • and up to date
  • Assist in streamlining processes by identifying inefficiencies and supporting the
  • implementation of improvements to workflows, templates, and systems

Communication

  • Curate and send a weekly resource e-mail to students
  • Update and maintain the student resource homepage (Notion)
  • Send students e-mails and text messages about programmatic requirements, events,
  • updates, and reminders
  • Assist with the creation of the Annual Report, social media content, and other
  • communications materials

** Interest in or experience with design (e.g., Canva) to support communications

materials is a plus, but not required.**


Events

  • Assist with planning and execution of annual events (e.g. Annual Community
  • Celebration, summer and winter gatherings for students)
  • Create, send, and track event and workshop invitations, and support related logistics

Development

  • Entering donor/gift information to donor database (Bloomerang)
  • Help set up and run customized donor reports (Bloomerang)
  • Write and send acknowledgment letters to donors via e-mail or mail

SCHOLARSHIP PLUS OFFERS/BENEFITS

The salary range for this position is $65,000-$70,000, commensurate with experience.
